Grocery Delivery & Online Shopping
Free delivery for SNAP & non-SNAP Users. Delivery discount applies when you put in your address, if you live in the free delivery zone in Pittsburgh’s East End.
Discounted for recipients of SNAP, WIC, Medicaid & more. $6.47/month or $49/year for unlimited free delivery from Walmart for orders over $35. Walmart advertises that its online prices match its in store prices.
Discounted for SNAP users. Instacart+ includes free unlimited delivery on orders over $35 and reduced Instacart service fees. $4.99/month for 1 year. After 1 year, your plan auto-renews at the full price of $9.99 per month.
Stores include: SamsClub, Costco, Aldi, Walmart, Target
Free DashPass for two months for SNAP users. DashPass includes $0 delivery fees and reduced services fee on eligible Grocery, Convenience, and other orders that meet the subtotal minimum as shown in the app. SNAP users get 2 free months of DashPass (normally $9.99 per month).
Stores include: Aldi is the only local participating grocery store.
Amazon Prime
U.S. recipients of certain government benefits such as SNAP, LIHEAP, WIC, and Free/Reduced-Price School Meals can get a monthly Amazon Prime membership for $6.99/month instead of the standard $14.99/month. This discount allows you to access all aspects of a Prime membership, including free and fast shipping; Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Reading, and Prime Gaming; and unlimited photo storage with Amazon Photos.
Museums & Attractions
Museums for All is a nationwide program that allows you to present your SNAP EBT card and valid ID from any state to gain free or discount admission at participating museums. In Pittsburgh, these discounts include:
- The Andy Warhol Museum: EBT cardholders receive general admission for up to 4 people at $1 each. Other discounts are available.
- Carnegie Museum of Art: EBT cardholders with photo ID receive general admission for up to 4 people at $1 each. All children under 2 attend for free. Other discounts are available.
- Carnegie Museum of Natural History: EBT cardholders with photo ID receive general admission for up to 4 people at $1 each. All children under 2 attend for free. Other discounts are available.
- Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh: EBT cardholders with valid ID receive general admission for up to 4 people at $2 each. All children under 2 attend for free.
- Mattress Factory: Email [email protected] for the discount ticket purchase code for EBT cardholders to receive general admission for up to 4 people at $1 each.
- Carnegie Science Center: EBT cardholders with valid ID receive general admission for up to 4 people at $4 each. All children under 3 attend for free. Other discounts are available.
- Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens: any EBT cardholder or WIC participant with a photo ID can receive general admission for up to 4 people at $3 each. All children under 2 attend for free.\
- Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium;: EBT cardholders with a valid ID can receive daytime general admission for up to 4 people at $3 each.
- Pittsburgh Botanic Garden: Any PA EBT cardholder or PA WIC participant can receive general admission for up to 4 people at $2 each. All children under 3 attend for free
Automatic Eligibility for other Benefits
Lifeline discounted phone service
Lifeline is a government program that helps low-income consumers with a discount on monthly service for:
- Voice/telephone (landline or wireless)
- Broadband internet access service (internet service)
- Combination of telephone and internet service
You may qualify for Lifeline Assistance if you receive Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefits, or Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA). These resources can help you find participating service providers.
WIC
If you get SNAP and are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a child under the age of 5, you may eligible for WIC without extra income verification.
SUN Bucks
If you receive SNAP for your school age child, you are automatically enrolled in SUN bucks. This new food benefit, also called Summer EBT, spends like SNAP and will go onto your SNAP EBT card. In 2024, you should receive $120 for each eligible child by September 30, 2024.
Food Bucks
You can use your SNAP at participating farmers markets, farm stands, and retailers to stretch your SNAP spending and get discounts on fruits on vegetables. All of our Fresh Access markets participate in Food Bucks. Check out this map to see all of the Food Bucks retailers in Western PA.
Free Employment & Training
SNAP recipients can volunteer to participate in employment and training programs that can help you get back to school, gain a skill, or find employment. You can get support with paying for child care, transportation costs, and more while you participate. Nearby employment and training programs include KEYS, Bidwell Training Center, Center for Employment Opportunities, Community Kitchen Pittsburgh, Landforce, New Century Careers, Per Scholas, Trade Institute of Pittsburgh, and county EARN programs. Transportation
POGOH bikeshare
Recipients of SNAP, LIHEAP, Medicare, and Medicaid can get a $10 one-year membership to POGOH, a bikeshare program in Pittsburgh. The Mobility Justice Membership entitles them to unlimited 30-minute bike rentals with no additional unlock fees for e-assist bikes.
Other Local Discounts
Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library: PA EBT cardholders receive free admission to the Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library, as do first-time visitors.
