Food-stamp rule forcing thousands to look for work

Get a job or go hungry, the state is warning 33,000 Pennsylvanians at risk of losing food stamps.

A rule change is forcing that many people to get a job working at least 20 hours a week by June 1, or get a document that confirms they are unable to work.

Without either, they’ll no longer qualify for the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program – the federal food benefit for people with low-incomes that is administered by the states….
