Please note that Congress voted in December to end SNAP Emergency Allotments. February 2023 was the last month for these extra monthly benefits in Pennsylvania.

Just Harvest provides help with SNAP/food stamps, LIHEAP, LIHWAP, Medicaid, and TANF/cash assistance applications as well as case advocacy and eligibility screenings. Our team is working from home during the pandemic; we will return all requests for help in the order they were received.

Did you sign up for SNAP with SSI?

If you applied for SNAP through the Social Security office when applying for SSI (CAP-SNAP), you may be eligible for more SNAP benefits by applying through the state. Depending on how much you pay for shelter and utilities, you might be eligible for more benefits.

Each situation is unique, and we would be happy to do a screening with you over the phone to talk about your situation. If it makes sense for you to switch from CAP-SNAP to regular SNAP, we can help you apply.

It’s Easier for Seniors to Apply for Food Stamps!

ESAP (Elderly Simplified Application Process) makes it easier for some seniors to apply for and continue to receive SNAP benefits. The application has fewer questions. Very few documents are needed (often just proof of ID), the interview can be waived, and seniors will only need to re-certify once every three years instead of every six months.

The criteria to qualify for ESAP are:

Everyone in the household is aged 60+ or receives Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
No one is working and income is a fixed amount (I.e Their only income is Social Security)
Rent/Mortgage costs are “reasonable”, subsidized or fixed.
