Just Harvest will be hosting our first ever resource fair on Friday, August 2nd from 1:30pm-4:30pm at the Homewood Community Engagement Center! The resource fair is mostly focused on-site enrollment for programs like SNAP, the SAVE plan, Dollar Energy, PGH2O Cares, youth mentorship, and more. There will be a live cooking demonstration at 2pm from our friend Chef Alexandria Kwolek of Indigo’s Kitchen, who will be making an easy, fresh recipe that incorporates farmers market produce. We’ll also have fresh snacks and beverages available to attendees throughout the event.
Here’s a tentative list of organizations that will be attending and what they will be offering:
Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging – Resources for seniors
Allegheny County Drug and Alcohol Programs – Program resources and outreach for substance abuse survivors
Allegheny Go – Enrollment for half-price transit fare for SNAP recipients
Big Brother Big Sisters of Pittsburgh – Mentorship programs for youths
Civic Nation – Enrollment for the SAVE student debt relief plan
Financial Empowerment Center – Free financial counseling services
Just Harvest – SNAP eligibility checking, enrollment, and troubleshooting
Pittsburgh Community Services Inc – Dollar Energy and utility assistance enrollment

We hope to see you there!
