“The Democratic candidates for Pittsburgh mayor sat down at a table Tuesday night and dug into food policy during a debate sponsored by local food-justice organizations.

Although the candidates in the May 16 primary election — Mayor Bill Peduto, Councilwoman Darlene Harris and the Rev. John Welch — were grilled on a number of topics at the Brookline Teen Outreach Center, many of the questions concerned what the city should do to alleviate hunger.
