Pa. community college students can now qualify for food aid

“Students at Pennsylvania’s community colleges could now be eligible for food stamps, due to a change in how state officials interpret a federal rule.

Federal food stamp rules say students at institutions of higher learning must meet a work requirement to qualify for the program, but the change means most income-eligible community college students would now be exempt because their studies would count as an employment training program….”
