Does it make sense to skimp on a child’s dinner to pay for his or her lunch? Unfortunately, our Congress seems to think so.
As Congress returned for its “lame duck” session, it was faced with important, immediate decisions regarding the well-being of America’s children and families. Sometime after Thanksgiving, the House will consider Senate Bill 3307 (The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act), which would invest $4.5 billion in child nutrition programs, including improvements to school meals.
