20 Allegheny County neighborhoods lack nearby full-service grocery stores

The problem of low-income neighborhoods without full-service grocery stores can’t be addressed with a one-size-fits-all solution, says the leader of a South Side-based nonprofit.

What works in Clairton might not work in Millvale, so individual communities’ characteristics must be taken into account, said Ken Regal, executive director of Just Harvest, which advocates against poverty and hunger.
