On Tuesday, May 6, from 6:00am to midnight (18 hours), Pittsburgh Foundation will host its 6th annual Day of Giving – a day for those who support nonprofits in southwestern PA to have their gifts partially matched. Last year more than 18,000 donors made contributions for a total of $7,719,000 in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties.
As in prior years, people can select Just Harvest Education Fund as a recipient on the Day of Giving to support our work. (Read below for instructions.)
This event will take place of the day traditionally held in October and is part of Give Local America, the national day for community foundations across the country.
Day of Giving 2014 Instructions
On Tuesday, May 6, between 6:00am and 11:59pm
1. Go to pittsburghgives.org and click on Donate Now
2. Enter your name, email and phone number in appropriate boxes. Please note you must have a valid email address to receive a tax receipt for your donation.
3. Begin typing Just Harvest Education Fund to narrow the list and select it from the drop-down menu.
4. Enter the amount you wish to give. The minimum gift per organization is $25.
You can make donations to additional organizations by clicking “Add Another Nonprofit”. You can give to up to 10 nonprofits during one session and to both PittsburghGives and WestmorelandGives organizations.
5. Once you are ready to complete your transaction, click “Go To Checkout” and you will be taken to the credit card screen. Enter in your credit card information on the Pittsburgh Foundation’s secure server and click “submit”.
MasterCard and Visa are accepted for payment and you will receive confirmation of your donation and a tax receipt via email within an hour of the transaction. Please remember to notify your credit card issuer if you plan to make a large donation as they may hold your transaction as per your fraud protection services.
