Our Congressional representatives in D.C. have taken their first steps to advancing a 2016 budget that would be disastrous for for those of us already struggling to get by. Many of our legislators are proposing serious cuts in funding for safety net programs, like SNAP/food stamps—taking away a critical lifeline that helps keep food on the table.
Any cuts to vital safety net programs will increase hunger and poverty in this country—in Pennsylvania, in Allegheny County and in our own neighborhoods!
Our legislators need to hear from us!
On June 9 we are taking a bus to D.C. to meet with key PA members of Congress and their staff. JOIN US in telling them and making our voices heard: “NO CUTS TO SNAP!”
This bus trip is free. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
