January is poverty awareness monthJanuary is Poverty Awareness Month so we have put together a number of easy ways for you to take action this month to help fight poverty. They’ll include opportunities to learn more about poverty and hunger in our region and the U.S., and to spread the word.

TODAY’S ACTION:

exclamation point2014 is going to be a year of taking action to help struggling families. Be a part of it by signing up for our email action alerts. Here are some of the issues we’ll be contacting local state and federal legislators about over the coming weeks and months:

  • Cuts to food stamps
  • Raising the minimum wage
  • Payday lending in PA 
  • State funding and administration of benefit programs

Whatever the policy, you can count on us to keep you educated, up-to-date, and able to quickly and effectively take action on the issues you care about.
