On Sunday, March 29, Just Harvest and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host the 20th Annual Empty Bowls fundraiser. The proceeds of this event will help fight hunger in the region.
In the weeks leading up to the event, local arts and community groups and schools – as well as the general public – help support the event by making and donating handmade clay bowls for the event.
Today the Sweetwater Center for the Arts is providing two such bowlmaking opportunities. A Sweetwater instructor will be on hand to assist those with no prior experience, and both wheel-throwing and hand-building options are available. Clay is included with registration fee, and all bowls created will be left at the Center to be glazed and donated to Just Harvest.
