June is National Hunger Awareness Month

January was National Poverty Awareness Month, and today kicks off a 30-day drive tying into the other half of our mission: hunger.

Of course, poverty and hunger go hand in hand – quite the ugly pair of twins. They can be hard to look in the face, but this month’s awareness campaign will help people see past the surface.

We have a lot in store for this month: a new item every day to help get the word out about who goes hungry and why. Through video, storytelling, and the latest data we’ll be dispelling myths, delivering some hard truths, and describing solutions to hunger in our region.

Stay tuned to find out:

And much, much more.

Summer months are very hard on the children because they do not get free breafasts and free lunch because school is out it takes the community to step up and make sure no child goes with out food i come from a neighbor hood in the bay area where two women started free breakfast and lunch at the school for the children
