On Sunday, March 2, Just Harvest and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank will host the 19th Annual Empty Bowls fundraiser. The proceeds of this event will help fight hunger in the region.
In the weeks prior, local arts and community groups and schools – as well as the general public – participate by making and donating over 1,000 handmade clay bowls for the event.
Today the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts is providing a free bowlmaking opportunity for the public. A PCA instructor will be on hand to assist those with no prior experience, and both wheel-throwing and hand-building options are available.
All bowls created will be left at PCA to be glazed and donated to the dinner. Every Empty Bowls ticket holder gets to take home one of these finished bowls.
