More than 350,000 Pa. seniors take advantage of streamlined food-stamp application

“… Some seniors can be socially isolated, or might not be able to use the state’s online benefits application or visit a county assistance office, said Ken Regal, executive director of Pittsburgh-based anti-hunger advocacy group Just Harvest.

His organization has funding from the National Council on Aging and a local foundation to enroll seniors in the food stamp program. They do outreach in places such as hair salons, senior centers, and senior housing high rises, he said….”
