“….Imposing a work requirement represents a belief that people on food stamps are lazy, said Ken Regal, executive director of anti-hunger nonprofit Just Harvest.
“If that’s the policy of the federal government, then we have done a moral disservice to our fellow Americans,” Mr. Regal said. “We already have a process in place that says if you don’t have kids at home, you are already subject to a work requirement.”
Approximately 1.8 million people in Pennsylvania receive food stamp benefits, roughly 40 percent of beneficiaries are children, according to state statistics….”
