Just Harvest works in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to end hunger and poverty. Founded in 1986, Just Harvest is a membership-based non-profit organization that is mobilizing, advocating, and serving towards economic justice for all.
Hunger and poverty are only symptoms of deep economic and political injustice. We need change in our government and corporate policies. Poor people should not be marginalized or exploited; the government should treat all citizens fairly; all people should be able to live with dignity; and no one should go hungry. The persistence of hunger in a nation of plenty is a political choice. Together we can end hunger and poverty in America.
Working to end hunger and poverty with our partner organizations, we are:
- Advocating for change in our public policies and public institutions
- Organizing our communities through education and empowerment
- Serving clients directly to help them access the services they need
